I mastered letting go when I learnt to hold on
I’ve been trying to let go of a lot of things
To move on from the past.
To position myself like the sun
And to create the me I want.
I know you’ve been there too
And sometimes you feel like you’ve failed.
It doesn’t make sense how wanting to be better can be so
complicated.
You’ve found yourself slipping…falling
It’s 10 steps forwards and 10 steps backwards
Why are you still stuck in the same place?
Is it because you haven’t tried hard enough?
Or maybe you are just not doing it right?
The universe is governed by 1 very fundamental force.
It’s called balance.
The chaos in the universe is responsible for the peace…
Did I lose you there?
I’ll say it again…
The chaos in the universe is responsible for the peace.
But how?
How can two completely contrasting things be responsible for
one another?
…it’s called BALANCE
Now Focus.
What does this have to do with you letting go and moving on?
What does it mean when you are down, broken and afraid?
When you feel chained and enslaved?
The fastest way to let go is to hold on.
Picture this:
You are climbing a mountain.
Now you’ve reached a point where you want to go sideways
instead of up.
Read this slowly….
You need to let go of whatever you are holding on to
BUT you can’t let go completely, because let’s face it, you
will fall.
And in the scare of the fall, you’ll attempt to save
yourself by holding to where you just let go.
Which won’t take you where you want to go.
Keep reading slowly…
The best thing to do is to move one hand at a time in the
direction you wish to go.
This is a transition.
Remember when we agreed that life was about processes? Well,
this is one of them.
Eventually moving one hand leads to moving the other hand
and in the end your whole body
Simple, right?
Well, not really...
What we really want is the "fast, instant, I lost 5kgs
overnight" kind of life
But we find ourselves gaining 10kgs in the coming week.
Then we wonder why…
You cannot leave gaps, voids and holes.
The universe isn’t made that way.
If you want to get over a bad relationship, you need to
acknowledge that it was bad.
Then you let go by holding on.
It’s called replacing.
The time you would have spent with that person, use it to
get to know yourself.
If you want to watch less TV,
Replace that time with reading books.
We need to be deliberate to avoid falling back into the pit
of old habits.
The trick to letting go, is holding on.
And the trick to holding on, is letting go.
Let go of the old and deliberately hold on to the new.
Hold on to the new by deliberately letting go of the old
